Zone 5 Team Wins Second Consecutive Gold in the $15,000 Randolph College/USEF Prix de States Team Championship at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show

Harrisburg, PA – October 11, 2013 – In an exciting night of junior jumper action, the Zone 5 team captured their second consecutive gold in the $15,000 Randolph College/USEF Prix de States Team Championship at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show tonight. Under the guidance of team Chef d’Equipe Alex Jayne, the Zone 5 Team consisted of: Kalvin Dobbs, of Carmel, IN, rode TEA PARTY; Gabriela Mershad of New Albany, OH, was aboard SKARA GLEN’S BASEL; Lauren Tyree of Chicago, IL, competed AUDI’S TOP SECRET; and Vivian Yowan of Lexington, KY, rode RALVESTHER. The Prix de States Team Championship follows a modified Nation’s Cup format whereas each team jumps one round

Headlined Star-Studded Line-up in Two-Day Event at Pimlico Race Course Southern Pines, NC–October 8, 2013—Grand Prix rider Hillary Simpson showed that careers in show jumping can be viable for ex-race horses during her appearance with her Thoroughbred Arkansas in the Retired Racehorse Training Project’s Thoroughbred Makeover and National Symposium at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, MD, over the weekend of October 5-6. Simpson brought her 10-year-old Thoroughbred gelding, on whom she has won several Grand Prix ribbons this year including a win in the Mt. Equinox Grand Prix in Vermont, to the two-day event and participated in several functions.

Lexington, KY – October 9, 2013 - After winning this year’s very first Hallway Feeds USHJA National Hunter Derby at the Kentucky Spring Horse Show, Shawn Casady took over the top of the Leading Rider standings and never relinquished it. The talented professional went on to capture multiple top placings throughout the spring and summer. At the end of the Hallway Feeds USHJA National Hunter Derby Series, Casady had accumulated 1175 points to take home the coveted $10,000 Hallway Feeds Leading Professional Rider Award

Liz Halliday will make her first FEI Nations Cup appearance for the United States Equestrian squad this weekend (October 10-13) when the professional dual sportswoman takes part in the CCI*** Team competition in Boekelo. Liz, along with one of her Chailey Stud stable’s brightest prospects – Blackie (Fernhill by Night) – travels to the Netherlands as part of the three-rider American team for the final round of this year’s championship
