Chester Weber (USA) came out on top at the Driving test event for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy, the third of the FEI disciplines to be tested this month. The American driver, who made a strong start with an impressive Dressage mark of 34.63 points, finished the three days on 108.24, over 17 points clear of runner-up Ludwig Weinmayr of Germany (125.54)

Bridgehampton, NY-August 25, 2013 – Victoria Press, of New York, N.Y., rode her horse Mayfair to victory in the $50,000 Hampton Classic Hunter Derby, presented by Meadow View Farms, on the opening day of the Hampton Classic Horse Show. Press-at 14 the youngest rider in the 42-horse starting field-confidently guided Mayfair to the best score of the second round to claim the blue ribbon and the $15,000 prize with a two-round score of 178.5. Darragh Kenny urged O’Ryan (171.0) to second place and a $10,000 prize, and Molly Ashe-Crawley claimed the $7,500 third-place prize on Ennzo (170.0)

Do you find yourself pacing the horse stalls of the barn, yearning for the thrill of eventing, but are not quite sure you want to tackle the solid fences of the cross-country course? Combined driving is very similar to eventing, but allows you to tackle the obstacles from the driver’s seat instead of the saddle. Combined driving is a FEI recognized discipline and, like eventing, consists of three phases: the dressage phase, the cross-country phase, and the obstacle phase.

Halifax, MA – August 22, 2013 – The beautiful New England weather continued as competition in the Junior and Amateur-Owner Hunters concluded during the Fieldstone Summer Showcase II. Lisa Foster and Castlewood proved that they had all the answers in the Amateur-Owner Hunters, winning both over fences classes for the championship award. McKayla Langmeier and Czar-Z were also victorious in both of their over fences classes to take home the Junior Hunter Championship

Riding back from the show grounds in Wellington, FL Horses are “Free Roaming Social Herbivores” Last week I was riding, or should I say “rock climbing” horses up on top of the Continental Divide in Colorado facilitating a Horsewomen’s Retreat., but for most of the year I am in Wellington, Florida watching thousands of horses navigate golf carts, trucks, trailers, landscape blowers and big rigs.
