Eric Lamaze Makes Appearance at Geneva Horse Show

2008 Olympic Champion Eric Lamaze (right) gives a course description to the audience with Alban Poudret at CSI5*-W Geneva, Switzerland.” Photo Credit – Revolution Sports Geneva, Switzerland – Canada’s Eric Lamaze made his first competition appearance in three months at the CSI5*-W Geneva International Horse Show, but in the capacity of commentator, not competitor.   Lamaze, the 2008 Olympic Show Jumping Champion and former number one in the Rolex Rider Rankings, began a short hiatus from competition following the CSIO5* Spruce Meadows “Masters” tournament in Calgary, Canada, in September.  While Lamaze will not return to competition until the 2013 Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida, he travelled to Geneva to support the competition, held December 6 to 9, and its sponsor, Rolex.

THE DRESSAGE FOUNDATION’S CAROL LAVELL GIFTED MEMORIAL FUND AWARDS $10,000 TO ADULT AMATEUR RIDERS

(December 3, 2012) – The Dressage Foundation is proud to announce this year’s recipients of the Carol Lavell Gifted Memorial Fund Scholarships for Adult Amateurs.  Each will receive a $1,000 Scholarship to enable them to set aside quality time in concentrated training with a horse they own, with a trainer of choice, away from the daily pressures of job and family.   “Congratulations to these deserving Adult Amateurs for being selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship!  Thanks to the generosity of Carol Lavell, her family, and friends, we are thrilled to provide this support,” said Jenny Johnson, Administrative Director of The Dressage Foundation.  “We hope that each recipient will make the most of the concentrated training time that this scholarship will allow, and we look forward to hearing from each recipient about her experience.”   Up to nine $1,000 grants are available each year (one per United States Dressage Federation Region).  Additionally, two wild card grants are available, and can be awarded in any Region.  The following Adult Amateurs were chosen as recipients from their respective USDF Regions to receive grants for training in the 2013 calendar year.

Wellington, FL – December 2, 2012 – Kristen Abbatiello-Neff’s Kennzo and Molly Ashe jumped their way to victory in two rounds of competition in the $20,000 Holiday and Horses USHJA International Hunter Derby, presented by Dietrich Insurance, on Sunday, December 2, 2012. Concluding the week-long competition, the class was held in the spacious International Arena at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center with a beautifully designed course set by Skip Bailey, of Wellington, FL.

American riders took top four honors in the eleven horse jump-off.

Lauren Hough and Ohlala For Immediate Release Wellington, FL – November 29, 2012 – The Holiday and Horses CSI 2*-W show continued today with another big class for show jumpers, the $33,000 Holiday and Horses Opener Grand Prix presented by Horse Gym USA. The grand prix is a FEI ROLEX ranking class, and the winning amount of points today went to Lauren Hough and Ohlala. They were the only double clear round to capture victory.
