Eric Lamaze Makes Appearance at Geneva Horse Show

Thursday, December 13 2012 by Editor
2008 Olympic Champion Eric Lamaze (right) gives a course description to the audience with Alban Poudret at CSI5*-W Geneva, Switzerland.” Photo Credit – Revolution Sports Geneva, Switzerland – Canada’s Eric Lamaze made his first competition appearance in three months at the CSI5*-W Geneva International Horse Show, but in the capacity of commentator, not competitor.   Lamaze, the 2008 Olympic Show Jumping Champion and former number one in the Rolex Rider Rankings, began a short hiatus from competition following the CSIO5* Spruce Meadows “Masters” tournament in Calgary, Canada, in September.  While Lamaze will not return to competition until the 2013 Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida, he travelled to Geneva to support the competition, held December 6 to 9, and its sponsor, Rolex.

A Success Story!! I Found A Saddle Pad That DOES NOT Slip!

Friday, December 07 2012 by Editor
By Jan Westmark-Allan My Success Equestrian pad – it never, ever slips!! I love a good success story!! And I especially love when that success happens to me! As the editor of Sidelines Magazine, I am often asked to “test” products. I, of course, don’t mind at all! When I heard that Success Equestrian Saddle Pads (www.successequestrian.com) was going to send me a saddle pad that doesn’t slip, my first reaction was “Great, because I already have plenty of saddle pads that do slip.” As the keeper of the Sidelines equine mascot (Spirit, my trusty steed) – we have an assortment of slippery pads.  I was glad someone was going to send me a non-slip pad.

Rehab

Monday, December 03 2012 by Editor
I’m in the midst of my final exams for school so things have been very busy, but I have some very exciting news that I wanted to share! We finally got the news we’d been hoping for! As of November 14, Palermo has officially been cleared to go back to work! Yay! While his injury still isn’t entirely healed, our vet feels as though he is ready to start rehabbing. This made me nervous at first, as I tend to err on the side of caution, but I’ve had to come to the realization that this is our ‘new normal’. There has been really significant improvement, especially since we did the PRP injections, and our vet feels as though he is ready to start going back to work.
