On the weeks we don’t have competitions I plan to do a “Meet Our Members” post so you can get to know all of our members and today Brendan Quinn is featured! Brendan is the only boy on the team and has been a huge help to me! He is always willing to help me with getting things done for the team and takes on responsibilities. Name: Brendan Quinn Year in school: Freshman Major: Business Management Hometown: Evans, Georgia Horse Name: “The Macallan” (Mac) Breed: Thoroughbred Age: 15 Level: Preliminary/Training Where do you keep your horse/Train with?: Fairwinds Farm-Lynn Coates-Holmes How did you start riding?: My mom introduced me to it not long after I was born Biggest riding accomplishment?: Eventing Gold Medal at the Novice Level/Top 10 Junior Horse and Rider pair in US at Novice in 2010 Biggest riding goal ?: To compete at the international level for the US Favorite phase in eventing?: Cross Country Why did you choose USC Aiken?: The Aiken horse community and the opportunity to compete Favorite thing about eventing?: The bond of trust it requires between horse and rider What was your reason for joining the eventing team?: To be part of something that was helping to grow our sport What are your hopes to get from being on the eventing team ?: Experiencing what it feels like to compete in a team competition

WHOA! Allison Springer has a new dancing partner – William Fox-Pitt’s Lionheart – the horse he rode t to team silver for GBR on home turf at the 2012 London Olympics! This is exciting news for the Upperville, VA-based rider and her Team Lionheart Syndicate LLC.

Deborah Kinzinger-Miculinic Named 2013 Dressage Canada Owner of the Year

Ottawa, ON, November 9, 2013 — Dressage Canada is pleased to announce that Deborah Kinzinger-Miculinic of Brampton, ON, has been named the 2013 Dressage Canada ‘Owner of the Year’. Having left the world of riding in her youth, Kinzinger-Miculinic decided to rejoin the equestrian community in 2010 on her 50th birthday. In her search for an instructor, she came across David Marcus of Campbellville, ON, who now rides two of her well-known Grand Prix horses, Don Kontes her 13-year-old Swedish Warmblood gelding by Don Schufro; first purchased by Marcus for Kinzinger-Miculinic to ride, and Chrevi’s Capital her 13-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding by Chrevi’s Cavallo
