Another Successful Adoption at Pure Thoughts!
Thursday, July 05 2012

Happy 4th of July! I hope everyone had a fun and safe holiday! I am writing this post from Candlewood Lake in Connecticut. I actually grew up riding here (in Farmington, actually) and I forget how beautiful it is. I miss Suckie terribly but don’t worry, he is being lovingly taken care of by Brad and Jennifer and I hear that he is having a great week. Since I am not at the barn, this week’s post about another successful adoption is written by Jennifer Swanson: For the Horses.. The Clock Keeps Ticking

A Change in Perception Before I began my journey of self-discovery and creation it never occurred to me situations could actually be perceived differently. As I continue the inner work I notice the power that lies within me to turn what appears to be a negative into a positive

Ladies Dominate the Field in the $30,000 Red, White and Blue Classic Grand Prix
Monday, July 02 2012

San Juan Capistrano, CA – June 30th, 2012 – It was déjà vu this afternoon as Josephina Nor-Lantzman (BRA) and Tina Di Landri went head to head in the jump-off for the $30,000 Red, White and Blue Classic Grand Prix. The first week of the series featured the $30,000 Blenheim Classic Grand Prix where both riders returned in the jump-off as the final two rounds. Di Landri put up the final time and bested the field, leaving Nor-Lantzman (BRA) in second, respectively. Today, Nor Lantzman (BRA) was able to scare off the competition and seek revenge without fault to take the $30,000 Red, White and Blue Classic Grand Prix, presented by Ritz Carlton – Laguna Niguel. Josephine Nor-Lantzman (BRA) aboard Chello Z Seven nations represented the twenty six rounds of today’s Grand Prix. Leaving it to the young rider from Brazil, Josephina Nor-Lantzman (BRA) was the only rider to post two clean rounds and master the course designed by fellow Brazilian, Anderson Lima. “She did a phenomenal job.” Lima complemented Nor-Lantzman, “We set a tough course, but Josephina (Nor-Lantzman) handled it great.” Of the sixteen efforts, riders found complications coming into a wide oxer with only four strides to regroup and set for a skinny vertical

Revelations
Monday, July 02 2012
by Editor
Don’t you hate when life gets in the way of your riding? I’ve been defending a trial for one of my firm’s municipal clients which means, essentially, that I’ve been living at the office. Now that the worst of it is over, I’ve come to some shocking revelations: 1. I have a horse! He’s really great, too. Almost forgot about him…. 2. I have a blog! Two blogs, actually. And there’s been nothing but tumbleweeds rolling around on here the past few weeks. Sorry about that, I hope no one has dust allergies. 3. It’s summer! I was having trouble determining the season given that I’ve been living in air conditioning and under flourescent lights for three weeks. Tucker eyes his saddle suspiciously... vaguely recalling its purpose This weekend, once my eyes adjusted to the daylight, I finally got to spend some real quality time with my horse, other than the hour or so I’ve been able to sneak in to check on him over the past three weeks. (I’ve been told by a few people who drive pick-up trucks that Tucker has been coming to the fenceline expectantly when they pull in, hoping it was me, which is basically just the saddest and sweetest thing I’ve ever heard). I’m happy to report that Tucker was really super this weekend! Even after three weeks off, he wasn’t spooky or fresh or tense when I rode him yesterday, just lovely and forward and relaxed. I lunged Saturday, and while he started off playing a bit, he settled right down in a few minutes, kept one ear trained on me, and responded to all my voice commands, which was a good sign. My fingers are tightly crossed that the Ulcer Gard is working, and it will be the solution to all the ridiculous spooking and carryings-on as of late. I don’t think I can say for sure until I’ve had a few more good rides, which I’m planning to do this week. We now have a new goal, which is to determine whether my horse is, in fact, pregnant, or whether some of this can be shed away with a few weeks of exercise: I swear I saw the baby kick....

Wellington, FL (June 29, 2012) – New York Times bestselling author Tami Hoag makes a living writing thrillers – and now Hoag has a thriller of her own. Two years ago Hoag purchased a young mare, Highlife’s Aria, and the mare has made her debut in the dressage ring and in typical Hoag style the talented mare is a winner! Highlife’s Aria, owned by Tami Hoag and ridden by Charlie Pinneo, in winning form during their test. (Photo courtesy of Mitch Weiss) Hoag, who is a professional Grand Prix dressage rider when she isn’t sitting at her keyboard pounding out suspenseful novels, bought Aria at an auction hosted by Highlife Farm two years ago
