Do you wear a helmet when you ride? Some shows mandate that competitors wear a helmet, and some barns also require helmet use for riders. If you wear a helmet, though, it needs to fit you correctly and you need to care for it properly so that it will help to protect your head in a fall

Halifax, MA – August 14, 2013 - Strikingly set courses greeted hunter riders for the first day of the Fieldstone Summer Showcase I. The professional hunter divisions kicked off the competition in the Main Hunter Ring, where Jennifer Tate rode Florestan to the top of the Pre-Green Hunter division.

Karissa and Seppy! By Dani Moritz I got a Facebook message this morning from a woman I met briefly at Therapeutic Horsemanship in Wentzville, Missouri. Seppy had been there on and off over a two year period and was volunteering as a therapy horse while I spent a lot of time traveling and studying

Olivia Woodson and Butterfly Kisses Win 2013 USEF Pony Medal Finals

Lexington, KY- August 11, 2013 – Today’s 2013 United States Equestrian Federation Pony Medal Final was the perfect conclusion to a close to perfect week at the 2013 USEF Pony Finals for best friends Emma Kurtz and Olivia Woodson. Kurtz was extremely successful in the hunter divisions throughout the week, and today Woodson bested a field of nearly 190 riders to win the 2013 USEF Pony Medal Finals, while Kurtz finished in a close second. The equitation class, held in the Alltech Arena at the Kentucky Horse Park, marked the final event at this year’s USEF Pony Finals

Four Ready to Adopt Dogs in Miami, Florida

Jessica L. Pita, adoption counselor at Miami Dade Animal Services , is working hard to find animals homes every day. She says that the shelter is overwhelmed with nearly 400 dogs, and they are desperately in need of adopters.

Zionsville, IL – August 11, 2013 - The Traders Point Hunt Charity Show grounds were a buzz with activity anticipating the $15,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby held in the Grand Prix field of the gorgeous Wild Acres Farm. The horse show did not disappoint spectators with activities for the whole family including pony rides, bouncy houses, shopping and plenty of food.

Lexington, KY – August 9, 2013 - The rain started to pour as the day wound down at the 2013 United States Equestrian Federation Pony Finals, but it did not put a damper on the kids’ spirit as they showcased their skills. The Large Pony Hunters took center stage in the Walnut Ring this morning as they completed their Model and Under Saddle phases where Taylor St Jacques and Enjoy The Laughter took home both blue ribbons.

Lexington, KY -Clear rounds were the order of the day in the Alltech Arena on Thursday evening as 11 teams went to task over Marc Donovan’s 12-obstacle track. Team medals in the US National Pony Jumper Championship were at stake as competition was held in the two-round Nations Cup format.

Washington International Horse Show CSI 3* Increases Prize Money for 2013 Tuesday Evening to Highlight High Performance Hunters Prize List Featuring Other Enhancements Now Available Online Washington, DC – July 19, 2013 – The 55th Washington International Horse Show CSI 3* (WIHS) is pleased to announce an increase in the prize money awarded this year in the open jumper and hunter divisions. WIHS will offer nearly half a million dollars in total prize money in 2013, more than a $70,000 boost from 2012!
