Intercollegiate Dressage Association’s 2013 National Championship

Mount Holyoke College Equestrian Center in South Hadley, Massachusetts and their dressage team will host over 100 riders from more than 20 colleges and universities throughout the United States at the Intercollegiate Dressage Association’s 12th annual National Championship on April 27th and 28th. Four-member teams and individuals in each of the IDA’s four divisions–Introductory Level, Lower Training Level, Upper Training Level and First Level–are chosen from the approximately 600 student riders representing 55 colleges and universities across 9 regions of the US and Canada.

THERMAL, CA (March 2, 2013) – Fifty-three horse-and-rider combinations took the field, but it was the reigning World Cup winners who ruled the day Friday, when Rich Fellers and Flexible rode to victory in the $25,000 SmartPak Grand Prix, presented by Zoetis. The rider from Wilsonville, Oregon and the chestnut stallion owned by Harry and Mollie Chapman, laid down a pair of sizzling rounds, although they were chased to the finish by Lane Clarke of Laguna Niguel, California and Horsemanship Unlimited’s Kiss the Sky, who finished second. Germany’s Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum and Windward Farm’s Unbelievable 5 placed third

Grace Knox rode to first aboard Rapidash in the $15,000 Marshall & Sterling Insurance Child/Adult Jumper Classic Saturday, while Nicole Loochtan and Dreaming Out Loud finished second, adding to the string of successes Red Coat Farm has seen thus far at HITS Ocala. Coupled with two grand prix wins by Lisa Goldman earlier in the season,Illinois trainer Mary Goldman is making quite the debut during her first winter in Florida.
