Hello all and welcome to the world of The Hopeful Amateur! As Sidelines’ newest writer, I will have a monthly column about the equestrian world from a novice amateur’s point of view featured in Sidelines’ digital magazine as well as my blog, where I’ll write about my adventures and experiences even more often. The following is the first half of my story about my life and love of horses. From a very young age, all I wanted to do was ride horses. 1988 Eclipse Champion Sunshine Forever, Dead at 29

GEORGETOWN, KY – JANUARY 7, 2014 – Sunshine Forever, the 1988 Eclipse Award Turf Champion, died January 7 at Old Friends, the Thoroughbred Retirement farm in Georgetown, KY. The 29-year-old stallion was discovered in his paddock at dawn today and a necropsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
