Swiss Olympic rider Martin Fuchs, currently ranked as the world’s No.1 rider on the Longines Jumping list, has returned to Florida to compete at the Palm Beach Masters Series. At the Palm Beach Masters Series in 2019, Martin won the first FEI class of the series, the CP Welcome Stake CSI4*-W. Martin comes from an equestrian family with strong ties to the Olympics: His dad competed in the Olympics in Barcelona in 1992 and his uncle, Markus Fuchs, won a team silver in show jumping at the 2000 Summer Olympics.

Wednesday, February 26 2020
by Editor
By Tafra Donberger. Portraits by Shawna Simmons - Carrie Sarabella’s interest in horses started when her grandfather would tell her — without ever taking her — that he was going to “feed the horses.” Thus the obsession began, and eventually her mother insisted he take Carrie with him. That was when they learned that “feed the horses” was his code for going to bet on racehorses at the track.

When you’re looking for a horse, how do you know you've found the right one? What are you looking for?
When I’m trying a horse, I think about a lot of different things: What type of rider is this horse for? What are the expectations for the horse? Does the horse have the necessary experience level for the new owner? Is the horse appropriately priced?

Endel Ots: Heart of a Champion
Tuesday, February 04 2020
by Editor
By Ruby Tevis. Portraits by Melissa Fuller - When dressage rider Endel Ots reflects on his achievements and challenges he’s encountered, there’s one thing he wishes he could tell his younger self. “If I could give younger Endel advice, I would tell him, ‘You’re going to be OK,’” Endel said. “We often label things as bad or good. However, it’s not until later on in your journey when you realize that what you thought was bad at the time was actually the best thing that could have happened to you.”
