By Jan Westmark-Allan Vote for Sidelines in Category 8 I spend an inordinate amount of time on the Sidelines Magazine Facebook page, not to mention the website and blogs. So when Sidelines was named a finalist in the Equestrian Social Media Awards, I let out a big cheer!! All that work – and we have been recognized!! I immediately thought about all the acceptance speeches you hear at the Academy Awards and other awards shows…”I’d like to thank the Academy…” (I do have interns that help me with the Facebook page and website – including April Leonard, Mindy Cortez and Christina Alex – thank you, thank you!!) And of course Bill Tatgenhorst at Sidelines, my website sidekick!! I would certainly like to thank all of the Sidelines “friends” who keep our Facebook page active and also those who read our blogs and visit our website. Now I have one more thing to ask our “friends” – to click on the link for the Equestrian Social Media Awards and vote for us

By Jan Westmark-Allan Lauren Tyree and Wrigley win the Maclay and the first Sidelines cooler during the first weekend of WEF! All photos by Bill Tatgenhorst The FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival, known as WEF, is underway! Twelve action-packed weeks filled with showing, shopping, sun and fun for thousands of horses and riders has started and is off to a rip-roaring start. Sidelines Magazine is proud to be sponsoring the 2013 ASPCA Maclay, and each weekend we will be giving away a gorgeous cooler to the winner that says “Sidelines – For Horse People About Horse People.” This weekend, Lauren Tyree, who rides with Missy Clark at North Run, took home the first Sidelines cooler thanks to her win on Wrigley.
