By Jan Westmark-Allan Tank – a dog from Big Dog Ranch Rescue. All he wants for Christmas is a forever home!! Get ready for a “feel good” experience right now thanks to some cute puppy dog eyes! Yes, today’s blog is all about adopting a dog (not a horse) – but horse people are dog people, so it makes sense! My spotlight rescue is The Big Dog Ranch Rescue in Wellington, Florida is a not-for-profit no-kill shelter – and they do a great job of finding forever homes for their furry collection of dogs and puppies. I love their website and their ads – and now they have created a great YouTube video with Christmas music and a bunch of sad puppy dog eyes pleading that all they want for Christmas is a forever home! Very, very hard to resist! Some puppy dog eyes that are hard to resist!! Let Santa bring your family an adopted dog this Christmas! Enjoy the video and help Big Dog Ranch Rescue if you can.

A Success Story!! I Found A Saddle Pad That DOES NOT Slip!

By Jan Westmark-Allan My Success Equestrian pad – it never, ever slips!! I love a good success story!! And I especially love when that success happens to me! As the editor of Sidelines Magazine, I am often asked to “test” products. I, of course, don’t mind at all! When I heard that Success Equestrian Saddle Pads (www.successequestrian.com) was going to send me a saddle pad that doesn’t slip, my first reaction was “Great, because I already have plenty of saddle pads that do slip.” As the keeper of the Sidelines equine mascot (Spirit, my trusty steed) – we have an assortment of slippery pads. I was glad someone was going to send me a non-slip pad.

I have always been a fan of Olympian Robert Dover – I think it’s all that bling when he wears all his Olympic medals at one time! I do love shiny things! I also like the fact that Robert is eager to help turn today’s young dressage riders into tomorrows future dressage stars.

By Jan Westmark-Allan One of my favorite photos in the foal photo contest – little Autumn with her not-so-little ears!! Adorable! I loved every single photo that was sent in for our Sidelines Magazine “Who’s Your Daddy” Foal Photo contest – and, all I can say, is that I am glad I wasn’t a judge!! I wanted everyone to win! Odd, I never was one of those parents who thought all the kids should get a trophy or a ribbon while competing on the horse show circuit – but when it comes to our Sidelines contests – I want EVERYONE to win! Let’s face it – the foal photos were amazing – cute, cuddly, fuzzy, adorable, precious, darling, (if I got out a Thesaurus I could probably keep going!) – I loved them all. I want to thank our panel of judges who had the tough job – and the sponsors for providing prizes for this contest.
