2013 Atlanta Spring Kicks off

May 18th, 2013 - The 2013 Atlanta Spring Challenge Horse Show kicked off on Wednesday to blue skies at the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers, GA. The show in its 10th year is produced by Aiken, SC based Equus Events and show manager JP Godard. The popular event is a USHJA Members Choice Award winning horse show and attracts some of the top hunter and jumper talent from across the country.

Grand Hunter Championship Goes to Mariano and Sandy Ferrell at Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Show

North Salem, NY – May 15, 2013 – The Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Show continued in its second week with today’s competition and presentation for the Grand Hunter Championship. Mariano, the champion of the Green Conformation division, scored the most points for the top title with rider Sandy Ferrell for owner Stephanie Riggio. Winston and Brooke Baldwin-deGrazia rode Winston to the win in the $1,000 USHJA Pre-Green Incentive class.

El Paso – Available for Adoption!

6 year old, 17hh Thoroughbred gelding “El Paso” is now available for adoption from our Lexington, KY facility! El Paso is an unraced, beautiful dark bay gelding. He is a big goofy horse who loves to go up an nip his friends on the rump to start a game. El Paso will also pick up and play with things that are laying around such as cones and wave them around.

Sugarbush Draft Horse

In the early 1900’s, invention of the automobile and tractor meant that horses were no longer in high demand for farm work. Instead, many of the remaining draft horses were used by carriage companies, often pulling decorative weddings for carriages. Everett Smith of Ohio operated the Sugarbush Hitch Company.
