Adelinde Cornelissen and Jerich Parzival re-take world number one slot

Adelinde Cornelissen (NED) and the 16-year-old Jerich Parzival will be heading to the Blue Hors FEI European Dressage Championships, part of the ECCO FEI European Championships, in Herning (DEN) later this month as world number one.   The Dutch rider and her striking chestnut KWPN gelding now lead the FEI World Dressage Rankings by 97 points, ahead of Reem Acra FEI World Cup™ Dressage 2013 champions Helen Langehanenberg (GER) and Damon Hill NRW, who are in second place with 2,802 points

Children of the Americas Dressage Invitational Wrap Up

Last weekend sixteen riders from eight countries came to Bear Spot Farm in Concord, MA for the Children of the Americas Dressage Invitational (CADI) to benefit the Bear Spot Foundation for Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy. Held every year, CADI gives riders age 12-14 the opportunity to represent their countries, develop their horsemanship and make new friendships. For the first two days of the event riders received training on their own or borrowed horses and then competed in a Children’s Preliminary Test and Freestyle on third and fourth days.

Tweseldown victory follows impressive round at Barbury International

  A solid CIC*** performance from a Chailey Stud veteran, followed by victory at Tweseldown, characterised a busy few days of eventing for Liz Halliday last weekend.  The professional dual sportswoman began her weekend by contesting the Barbury International Horse Trials in Wiltshire where two of her horses – Fox (Red Letter Day II) and Blackie (Fernhill by Night) – were competing.  Fox and Liz have formed a strong partnership and close personal bond during their near-decade together and rolled back the years to record a very pleasing result in a hotly contested CIC*** section. Dressage has never been Fox’s strongest discipline but a tidy test gave cause for optimism heading into the Show Jumping arena. Unfortunately three rails down would leave the pair towards the tail of the field.  But Barbury’s monster Cross Country course and the sweltering temperatures ensured that a stern final round remained
