Two Unique Horse Shows Come to the Virginia Horse Center in August

The Virginia Horse Center is proud to welcome two special horse shows in August. The American Connemara Pony Society and the Eastern Region Andalusian Horse Club bring unique horse breeds to Lexington. The Virginia Horse Center hosts more than 120 events a years, welcoming all levels, breeds and disciplines.

Calgary, Alberta – Overnight rain could not dampen the spirits of the competitors yesterday at Anderson Ranch for the second day of the Rocky Mountain Classic I tournament. Two hunters rings and three jumper rings, including the Grand Prix field, were all in full swing on a day that proved to be a little chillier than is normal for summertime in the Rocky Mountains. International Course Designer Werner Deeg (GER) set a spectacular course in the always impressive Wood Automotive Group Grand Prix field

Laura Renwick speeds away with the spoils on Ladies’ Day

Britain’s number one female rider Laura Renwick raced to victory today in the Sky Sports Speed Classic, finishing more than 2sec clear of her nearest rival. Her mare Beluga swept round Kelvin Bywater’s 1.45m course, and though last-drawn Guy Williams looked to be fast, he wasn’t quick enough and had to settle for second place with Bijou van de Vijfheide. Rather aptly for Ladies’ Day, all of the top four horses in this class were mares.
