Duke Rescue of the Week from Palm Beach County Animal Care & Control Duke is a 2-year-old male Flat-coated Retriever mix. He is a charming and handsome guy who loves spending his days at the park, socializing with other dogs, and playing fetch. He is housetrained and well-mannered. His adoption fee is only $20 this month; please ask for ID#1620988. I’m not sure you could ask for more. Besides, that’s a good-looking dog.

Does the Perfect Paint Sit on Command? (Apparently So!)
Thursday, October 04 2012
by Editor
By Jan Westmark-Allan Sit Spirit Sit. Good boy! My search for the Perfect Paint included a long list of details (I am a good shopper and like to make lists!!) but never once on the list did I write: horse must sit on command!! Now that I think of it, however, it is a pretty cool item to have on a “wish” list – and lucky for me my wish is about to come true! As it turns out, I didn’t have to look far to find the Perfect Paint. Samantha Charles, the publisher of Sidelines Magazine, just so happened to have owned a Perfect Paint at one time and put in a call to the people she sold him to.

by Lisa Molloy Since moving from Kentucky to Virginia Beach in July, I hit the ground running and have not stopped. Working in partnership with highly respected charities ReRun and Akindale Thoroughbred Rescue and with an open door policy for The Exceller Fund, I opened a new facility close to the Virginia/North Carolina state line that is a showcase for retired Thoroughbreds looking for second careers and new lives away from the track, all made available by nationally recognized charities
