Animal welfare organizations support move to block spending WASHINGTON (April 10, 2013)—Congress could once again ban the use of federal funds to inspect horse slaughter plants in the United States if it follows the lead of the White House—a move that is strongly supported by The Humane Society of the United States, the ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and the Animal Welfare Institute (AWI). President Obama’s FY 2014 budget proposal includes a request for Congress to block spending by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to inspect U.S.

DEVON, Pa.— Scott Stewart will defend his Leading Hunter Rider title at the 117th annual Devon Horse Show and Country Fair, which runs May 23 to June 2. Devon benefits Bryn Mawr Hospital, with proceeds to the Hospital approaching $15 million, over $50 million when adjusted for inflation.

Merrimac, MA – April 2, 2013 – The Sons of the Wind School of Equestrian Arts is gearing up for its 2013 Tour, where they will be conducting informational clinics for dressage riders and trainers, as well as showcasing the talent of their Lusitano mounts. The first stop of the tour will be at Cornell University from April 5-7, 2013, and then they will be traveling to the Midwest Horse Fair in Wisconsin from April 18-21. During these events, Sons of the Wind will be teaching clinics focused on helping riders make the best use of simple dressage exercises to improve their training.

Not only did we enjoy the horse show and all the wonderful showing, but we also stayed at three amazing hotels! In my blog yesterday I wrote about staying at the Four Seasons Resort in Palm Beach.
