McLain Ward and Cadence Capture $50,000 Akita Drilling Cup 1.50m (SPRUCE MEADOWS, Calgary, AB): The ‘North American’ Tournament finished today with two fantastic competitions in the International Ring. The highlight of the day was the $140,000 Cenovus Energy Classic Derby 1.60m, and Olympian Jonathan Asselin recorded a victory for Canada as the winner with Showgirl. In the $50,000 Akita Drilling Cup 1.50m, McLain Ward (USA) rode to victory with Cadence.

Frances Land and Vieanne Blaze to Victory in $33,000 Pepsi Challenge 1.45m SPRUCE MEADOWS, Calgary, AB): The ‘North American’ Tournament continued today, and it was Reed Kessler (USA) and Wolf S who took the highlight victory of the day in the $50,000 Lafarge Cup 1.50m over Lauren Tisbo (USA) with Catharina 9. Frances Land (USA) and Vieanne were very fast to win the $33,000 Pepsi Challenge 1.45m as the first ones in the jump-off.

Samantha Schaefer Scores Vermont Hunter Derby Victory

East Dorset, Vermont — Samantha Schaefer of Westminster, Maryland, celebrated the Fourth of July by winning the first $5,000 NEHJA Hunter Derby of the six-week Vermont Summer Festival in East Dorset, VT. Offering over $750,000 in prize money, the Vermont Summer Festival runs July 2 through August 11 at Harold Beebe Farm. The first time proved to be the charm as the Vermont Summer Festival marked Schaefer’s first competition riding Per Se, owned by Iron Horse Farm of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. In the opening week of competition at the Vermont Summer Festival, Schaefer and Per Se claimed the Pre-Green 3’3” Championship title, having won four out of five classes in the division. Based on their success, Schaefer decided to enter Per Se in the $5,000 NEHJA Hunter Derby. The event is a qualifier for the $15,000 NEHJA Hunter Derby Final to be held at Fieldstone Show Park in Halifax, MA, on August 22.

Lake Placid, New York—July 4, 2013—Todd Minikus of Loxahatchee, FL won the $30,000 ABBA Vet Supply Open Jumper Classic, Thursday’s featured event at the 36 th annual I Love New York Horse Show, Presented by Sea Shore Stables, LLC. Minikus was one of 12 of entries of the 46 who started to reach the jump-off by riding without penalty over the 16-jump, Richard Jeffery designed course at the North Elba Showgrounds. Late in the jump-off, U.S. Olympic veteran Margie Engle of Wellington, FL, who will be seeking a record eighth Grand Prix win in Lake Placid Saturday in the $100,000 Woodlea Farms Grand Prix, blazed to the lead with a clean ride in 32.192 seconds on Indigo

Lake Placid, New York—July 1, 2013—A win by Paul O’Shea of Ireland in the $75,000 Equine Insurance Services/Great American Grand Prix of Lake Placid was the culminating highlight of the 44 th annual Lake Placid Horse Show, Presented by Sea Shore Stables, LLC. Riding Michael Hayden’s Primo De Revel, O’Shea was one of six entries from the starting field of 34 to reach the jump-off by riding without penalty over the 14-jump first round course designed by 2008 Olympic course designer Steve Stephens. U.S. Olympic veteran Margie Engle of Wellington, FL, seeking a record eighth Grand Prix win in Lake Placid, took an early lead in the jump-off with a fault-free ride in 39.409 seconds on Royce, a 9-year-old, Oldenburg gelding.

Wellington, FL – January 20, 2013 – The second week of competition at the 2013 FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival (FTI WEF), sponsored by Wellington Equestrian Realty , concluded on Sunday with a win for McLain Ward (USA) and Super Trooper de Ness in the $25,000 Suncast® 1.50m Championship Jumper Classic. Competing on a beautiful afternoon at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC), the pair earned their second victory of the week, winning over Ben Maher (GBR) aboard Jane Clark’s Cella and Pablo Barrios (VEN) and ZL Group, Inc.’s Zara Leandra. Wellington, FL – October 31, 2012 – Equestrian Sport Productions, the management company of the FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF), hosted its ESP Fall III Horse Show this weekend on October 26-28, 2012. Competing in the International Arena at the beautiful Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington, FL, Todd Minikus and Macoemba were the winners of the $25,000 ESP Fall III Grand Prix on Sunday, October 28. The ESP Fall III Horse Show hosted “A” rated hunter and 3-star jumper competition all weekend.
