It’s Easy to Be Inspired by Para-Equestrians! (Looking Back at London)
Friday, October 12 2012

By Jan Westmark-Allan I love a good inspirational story or a person who inspires me to be a “better me.” That’s exactly what happens when I watch the Para-Equestrians. It makes problems I have seem insignificant – to watch these amazing riders and what they have accomplished, despite their limitations.

Does the Perfect Paint Sit on Command? (Apparently So!)
Thursday, October 04 2012
by Editor
By Jan Westmark-Allan Sit Spirit Sit. Good boy! My search for the Perfect Paint included a long list of details (I am a good shopper and like to make lists!!) but never once on the list did I write: horse must sit on command!! Now that I think of it, however, it is a pretty cool item to have on a “wish” list – and lucky for me my wish is about to come true! As it turns out, I didn’t have to look far to find the Perfect Paint. Samantha Charles, the publisher of Sidelines Magazine, just so happened to have owned a Perfect Paint at one time and put in a call to the people she sold him to.

by Editor
It’s the last week of May and you see this color: You’re thinking: a box from Tiffany’s, The Robin’s eggs that have just hatched, a beautiful cloudless sky? If you’re one of the legions of competitive hunter or jumper riders, breeders, pony, horse or coaching drivers, side saddle, gaited or western riders, you are seeing Devon Blue, the ubiquitous color that drapes the boxes and grandstands at The Devon Horse Show and Country Fair. The first Saturday night of the 2012 Devon Horse Show brings a chance to check out the vendors, the food, the carnival, who else is there, and, oh yeah, the horses. Devon has something for everyone punctuated by a few traditions of its very own
