Like you, we at The HSUS love horses—and we celebrate the special bond we all share with them. We’re dedicated to protecting equines from abuse, abandonment, slaughter and other forms of cruelty, and work to achieve this goal by guiding and transforming public policy, assisting law enforcement with rescues and investigations, and educating the horse-owning public about responsible care and stewardship.

Sandsablaze: A Great Book About A Great Horse
Monday, August 04 2014
by Editor
By Jan Westmark The book Sandsablaze is receiving rave reviews! I love to read and I love horses – so if I can combine both and read a great horse story then I am a happy camper. I just finished reading the book Sandsablaze, Grand Prix Greatness from Harrisburg to the Olympics , by Kimberly Gatto, and suffice it to say I am a very happy camper – even without the s’mores! Sandsablaze is a great ride through history. The book kicks off with a foreward by George Morris that is a fascinating look at what life was like in the show jumping world in the 1970s.
