Photo by Scott Fisher WELLINGTON, FL-March 10, 2014— -On a perfect, sun-drenched day for polo, Grand Champions captured the inaugural Great Futures Celebrity Polo Match Sunday at Grand Champions Polo Club. Led by Nacho Figueras, polo’s ambassador and face of Ralph Lauren, Grand Champions (Melissa Ganzi, Marc Ganzi, Nacho Figueras, Nic Roldan) defeated Piaget (Marwan Mohey-el-dien, Jared Zenni, Alejandro Novillo Astrada, Juan Bollini) with a 3-2 victory in the championship final.

Top athletes entered to compete include 2012 British Olympic Team Gold Medalist Ben Maher, 2012 Olympic Bronze Medalist Cian O’Connor, Olympian McLain Ward, and 10-time National Four-in-Hand Champion Chester Weber. And if all that is not enough horse power, the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales will be on display as well

The week will feature the $125,000 Ruby et Violette WEF Challenge Cup Round 7 on Thursday, the $34,000 G&C Farm 1.45m on Friday, the $280,000 Adequan® Grand Prix CSI 4* on Saturday, and the $84,000 Suncast® 1.50m Championship Jumper Classic on Sunday.
