Wellington, FL – January 30, 2013 – The fourth week of competition at the 2013 FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival (FTI WEF) began on Wednesday, January 30, with a win for Olympic gold medalist Nick Skelton (GBR) and his mount Heracross in the $8,000 G&C Farm 1.45m speed class. By Kim MacMillan, MacMillan Photography & Media Services Grand Prix Freestyle CDI5* Sweden ruled the in the headliner Exquis CDI5* Grand Prix Freestyle class at the 2013 World Dressage Masters (WDM) presented by the Axel Johnson Group on Saturday night, January 26. Tinne Vilhelmson-Silfven riding Lovsta Stuteri’s Hanoverian gelding Don Auriello won the class turning the tables on her countryman Patrik Kittel riding his Dutch Warmblood stallion Watermill Scandic H B C, who had taken first in the Grand Prix CDI5* the day before. Vilhelmson-Silfven scored a personal best with Don Auriello with an 84.075%, with Kittel and Scandic close behind with 82.525% for second and U.S

Wellington, FL – January 25, 2013 – Twenty-one -year-old Alise Oken and Hi Hopes Farm, LLC’s Teirra kicked off Friday’s competition at the FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival with a win in the $2,500 RCG Farm High Amateur-Owner Jumper Power and Speed class in the International Arena at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC). We hopped back and forth between the opening day of the World Dressage Masters at the Jim Brandon Equestrian Center in West Palm Beach and the FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival (FTI WEF) held at Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington to catch the up and coming horses at each venue. Wellington, FL – January 24, 2013 – Renowned show jumper Katie Monahan-Prudent guided Michael Smith’s V to victory in Thursday’s $33,000 Ruby et Violette WEF Challenge Cup Round 3 during the third week of competition at the 2013 FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival (FTI WEF). Competing in the International Arena at the beautiful Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC), the seasoned veteran topped young U.S. competitors Kristen Vanderveen (23) aboard Bull Run’s Eternal and Lauren Tibso aboard Tequestrian Farms’ Roundthorn Madios (28) who finished second and third respectively.

The Low Country Hunt, whose territory encompasses land southeast of the South Carolina city of Walterboro – approximately half way between Charleston and Hilton Head – was formed in 2006 which places it among the newer Recognized Hunts in the United States. That youth is belied by the passion and ability of the field, the staff and the hounds. Jointly led by four Masters, the chase for quarry carries over onto private plantations owned by family, friends and supporters who generously open their land to the Hunt.
