Why a Thoroughbred?

Tuesday, October 16 2012 by Editor
Although Thoroughbreds are bred primarily to run they also have many great characteristics that make them suitable for a variety of other disciplines.  Athleticism, intelligence, and heart are three traits that both racehorse and equestrian trainers look for in a horse.  The Thoroughbred in general is known to have all three.

Take The Inside Track and Get a Privileged Preview of Horses Available Soon!

Tuesday, October 16 2012 by Editor
With a whole host of new horses arriving and  those now regarded as old friends saying farewell  as they move onto their new adoptive homes, I find myself with no horses ready just yet for adoption although the facility is currently full and waitlisted – most have just arrived and are settling in, relaxing and becoming accustomed to a new way of life away from the track. One of the most important aspects of the transitional period that all horses arriving undergo is an evaluation not only of temperament but also for soundness and future potential as a riding horse.

Cruelty rescue named Rocco

Thursday, October 11 2012 by Editor
Rocco is a 2-year-old male American Pit Bull Terrier mix.  He was rescued from a life of cruelty and neglect a few short months ago and is now in need of the loving home he deserves. Assume nothing about his breed heritage! At two years of age (and thus socially mature), Rocco is *good* with other dogs, partially housetrained, and he LOVES to cuddle.  His adoption fee is only $20 this month. Stop by for a meet and greet today at Palm Beach County Care & Control today!  Ask for ID#1598003. For more information, call 561-233-1272. By Marti Hohmann, CPDT-KA on behalf of Elizabeth Harfmann, Community Outreach, ACC
