Alltech National Horse Show Named a USEF Heritage Competition

Lexington, KY – July 24, 2013 – The Alltech National Horse Show announced today that it has been named an official USEF Heritage Competition. The legendary show made the successful move to its new home in Lexington, Kentucky in 2011. During the debut season at the Kentucky Horse Park, the show was named as the National Show Hunter Hall of Fame’s Horse Show of the Year and was ranked as the nation’s top show by the North American Riders Group (NARG).

Weber Earns An Ultra-Good Finish at Beekbergen CAI-A4

Ocala, FL (July 23, 2013) - With his signature flourish in the dressage phase at the Beekbergen CAI-A4, July 18-21, in The Netherlands, nine-time U.S. national driving champion Chester Weber set an early lead (32.97) with an Ultra-good performance. As in Koos de Ronde’s Ultra, an 11-year-old KWPN gelding that Team Weber has had their eye on for the last two years but, like any top professional athlete, it was a matter of waiting until Ultra became a ‘free agent.’ “Koos de Ronde still owns Ultra and Jane Clark is leasing with an option to buy him,” said Weber. “We have tried for two years to get a deal done with Ultra. Patience seems to have paid off.

Bromont, Quebec – July 18, 2013 – As the first FEI event concludes at the International Bromont, Andrew Bourns earns a well deserved victory over Canada’s Olympian Jill Henselwood, by 2.05 seconds. The first round turned out to be challenging: only 6 teams make it to the jump-off, including Canadian Jill Henselwood on her two mounts, IV Ever and New Idol Z. On a course designed by Brazilian Guilherme Jorge, with 12 obstacles for 15 efforts including three double combinations, Jaclyn Duff (CAN) on Pater Noster is first to execute a clear round.

Deadline for Second Round is October 7 July 17, 2013 — Lexington, KY — USA Equestrian Trust has awarded nearly $210,000 in grants for 10 projects submitted by equine non-profits during the first of the foundation’s two 2013 application periods. The deadline for the Trust’s second grant application period is October 7. Equine non-profits interested in applying for a grant can do so by using the Trust’s online application form at www.trusthorses.org .
