December 1, 2012 –New York, NY- New York’s QUAD Cinema, IMA Studios, WFLF Humanion Films and The Triumph Project are proud to present the provocative new documentary Saving America’s Horses: A Nation Betrayed produced, written and directed by filmmaker Katia Louise. Featuring revealing interviews with distinguished veterinarians, trainers, academics, investigators, policymakers and members of the equine community, including Paul Sorvino, Linda Gray, Tippi Hedren, and Willie Nelson, the film addresses a question that recently prompted the U.S. Secretary of the Interior, Ken Salazar, to threaten to “punch out” a reporter who asked him if “any changes need to take place in the system in terms of safeguarding America’s wild and domestic horses.” Louise and her organization, the Wild for Life Foundation, ask the same question in her investigation of the economic, environmental, public health and ethical issues surrounding the slaughter of both wild and domestic horses for their meat.

By Jan Westmark-Allan Dressage rider Brandi Roenick will take part in the Robert Dover Horsemastership Week. Brandi rides Weltino’s Magic. I have always been a fan of Olympian Robert Dover – I think it’s all that bling when he wears all his Olympic medals at one time! I do love shiny things! I also like the fact that Robert is eager to help turn today’s young dressage riders into tomorrows future dressage stars.

Desperate for some Lovin!

Last week during a routine trail ride Marysville trainer, Amy Allison, captured some beautiful photos of our boy Doin My Best. This 5 yr old gelding, once insecure and even fretful of the great outdoors is now excelling as a trail horse. It has taken a couple months but with the help of a buddy and consistent routine he has come to enjoy the wide open spaces. He is now able to go out with a buddy or alone and have a leisurely stroll around the farm, down the road, and through the hay fields. Best has a lot to offer a rider. He is a tall 16.1h+ elegant gelding who is coming out of his shell. Strategically placed in the first stall by the tack room Best begs for attention every time someone walks by. He truly loves his new life and is longing for a person to call him their own.
