SMU’s Raposa Wins Over Fences, SD State’s Violand Takes the Flat at FTI WEF Collegiate Equitation Challenge

Wellington, FL – February 9, 2013 – The fourth annual Collegiate Equitation Challenge, hosted at the FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival (FTI WEF), took place Friday evening at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC). The top riders representing varsity teams from the National Collegiate Equitation Association (NCEA) competed head-to-head in a bracket format both over fences and on the flat.   Schaefer Raposa, a freshman at Southern Methodist University, took home the over fences championship trophy, presented by the South Florida Hunter Jumper Association, with a high score of 92

Spencer Smith and Skara Glen’s Voltan H Top Griffis Residential High Junior Jumpers at FTI WEF 4

Wellington, FL – February 1, 2013 -Week four of the 2013 FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival (FTI WEF) continued on Friday with the junior and amateur-owner riders beginning their jumper competition in the International Arena at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC). In the first class of the morning, 16-year-old Wellington resident Spencer Smith jumped to victory in the $1,500 Griffis Residential High Junior Jumper Power and Speed class aboard Skara Glen’s Voltan H.   Week four of the FTI WEF, sponsored by  Fidelity Investments® , will continue through February 3.

The win went to Olympic gold medalist Peter Wylde (USA) aboard Windward Farm and Jessica Suida’s Zidane, a nine-year-old KWPN gelding by Sam R x Cantos

Laura Kraut and Jubilee d’Ouilly Top $33,000 Ruby et Violette WEF Challenge Cup Round 2

Wellington, FL – January 17, 2013 – Laura Kraut and Jubilee d’Ouilly jumped to victory in the $33,000 Ruby et Violette WEF Challenge Cup Round 2 on Thursday afternoon at the FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival (FTI WEF) in an exciting jump-off of top competitors. Last to go in a 24-horse tie breaker with McLain Ward holding the first and second positions, Kraut and Jubilee shaved fractions off of the leading time to win in a dramatic finish

Georgina Bloomberg and South Street Secure Victory in Adequan 7-Year-Old Young Jumper Championship Qualifier

Wellington, FL – January 11, 2013 – The 2013 FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival (FTI WEF) continued with its first week of competition on Friday at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC) with a win for New York’s Georgina Bloomberg and South Street in the $1,500 Adequan 7-Year-Old Young Jumper Championship Qualifier and a championship win for Lansing and Jeanine Cash in the Adult Amateur Hunter 36-50 division.   Week one of FTI WEF runs January 9-13, sponsored by The Mar-a-Lago Club . The week will feature a full schedule of exciting hunter/jumper competition, including the $55,000 Nespresso Battle of the Sexes exhibition class as the start of the “Saturday Night Lights” series and fun events like the Jump for HomeSafe fundraiser.
