Riding back from the show grounds in Wellington, FL Horses are “Free Roaming Social Herbivores” Last week I was riding, or should I say “rock climbing” horses up on top of the Continental Divide in Colorado facilitating a Horsewomen’s Retreat., but for most of the year I am in Wellington, Florida watching thousands of horses navigate golf carts, trucks, trailers, landscape blowers and big rigs.

Lexington, KY – August 22, 2013 – Shawn Casady won the opening class in the 2013 Hallway Feeds USHJA National Hunter Derby Series, and he’s been a front runner in the series’ leading rider standings ever since. Following last weeks Bluegrass Festival Horse Show, Casady tops the standings with a total of 975 points. With both a first and second place finish in the Bluegrass Festival’s $5,000 Hallway Feeds USHJA National Hunter Derby, Meredith Darst sits second with 800 points

ECCO FEI EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS 2013 Herning (DEN), 22 August 2013 Germany claimed team gold for the 22nd time at the Blue Hors FEI European Dressage Championship in Herning, Denmark today. In a tense battle, it fell to reigning Reem Acra FEI World Cup™ Champion, Helen Langehanenberg, to clinch it with her last-to-go ride. And she did so with cool conviction when steering the brilliant Damon Hill to a score of 84.377 which gave her country a narrow advantage over the silver medallists from The Netherlands while the defending champions from Great Britain had to settle for bronze this time around. Just 1.111 points separated the three medal-winning nations in this super-tight battle of the giants

DEVON, Pa.— Following a hugely successful and popular inauguration last year, the Devon Fall Classic, featuring an all-jumper show with boutique shopping, music, delicious food and rides and games, will be held Sept. 12-15 at the Devon show grounds on Route 30. Laura Chapot of Neshanic Station, N.J., who won the $25,000 Devon Fall Classic Grand Prix last year on Umberto and also placed third on Zealous, is bringing both back this year in defense of her title
